Thomas and Thomas "Kosmic Commemorative" Limited Edition Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a very rare Thomas and Thomas Kosmic Commemorative Bamboo Fly Rod. Made in 1984 by T&T, this rod pays homage to the famous Kosmic Rods built by Thomas, Edwards and Payne at the end of the 19th century. It features blonde cane, a 3x3 node pattern, Kosmic-type swelled butt section, an ivoroid reel seat (raised rails, elongated butt cap, wide sliding band), large nickel silver cone-shaped grip check, and bright Kosmic-style ferrules. The guides are anchored with gorgeous bright red wraps tipped in black, and there are also nicely-spaced intermediate wraps. A few of the wraps show some age and have developed slight frosting but are not in need of repair. This frosting phenomenon is seen on many of the T&T rods from this time period. The wraps remain tight. The cigar shaped handle is composed of narrow cork rings that vary from 1/8" to 3/16" and is 5 1/2" in length. Inked in script on the butt section is: "19 - Kosmic - 84, Commemorative, Ltd. Edition". Number '13' is also inked on the base end of each section and it is stamped on the bottom of the butt cap. All sections are straight and full length on this excellent+ condition commemorative rod. It comes with the original bag (with stiffener), and labeled tube. The tube has some scratches from handling use.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Other Terms
- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
