For sale here is a Phillipson "Ed M. Hunter Approved" 8'6" 3/2 5-6wt bamboo rod. The rod is in unfished condition. All sections are full length with a minor set in one tip.
Handsome dark ammoniated cane with jet black wraps. Bronzed guides. The script remains clean and bold. The full-wells grip is 6 1/2" in length with the plastic still on the grip. Although, the plastic is slightly cracked and must be handled with care. Aluminum down-locking reel seat. The rod weighs 5 1/8 oz. The nickel silver ferrules are size 17/64 and 11/64 with an excellent fit. The action is medium-fast with excellent recovery. The swelled butt gives the rod a good amount of backbone while the thin tips allow for finesse and tippet protection. A terrific trout rod. Includes original bag and near perfect labeled tube with the Dave Cook price tag 100% intact. Don't miss out on this beautiful example of an Ed M. Hunter Approved.
The "Ed M. Hunter Approved" was made by Phillipson for the Dave Cook sporting goods store in Denver, Colorado. Though not sold or marked as a Phillipson, the rod is of the same quality as Phillipson marked rods. Ed Hunter was a sports writer for the Denver Post.

Shipping Information
- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
