For sale here is a Payne Model 200 bamboo rod in very good and condition but missing one tip. I've been told it was made in the late 1930's. 8 feet, 3/2 for a DT4 line. Sold by retailer Clapp and Treat. The black ring on the grip was a hallmark of Clapp and Treat rods. Classic Payne dry fly action. Ferrules are size 9 and 14. Down-sliding cap and ring over spanish cedar insert. Very nice red agate stripping guide which, like the black ring around the grip, was probably a custom order from the retailer. No issues with the exquisite cane/node work. All wraps are in very good condition. Varnish in very good condition - no need for repair. The butt section ferrule may have been reset at one point but I cannot be sure. Original poplin bag and brass-capped aluminum tube. Comes with faded hang tag. Rod weighs 3.55 oz.
