For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Wes Jordan 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 70193, made in 1973. The rod is in excellent original condition. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features beautiful darkly tempered cane often seen on Orvis rods from this era. Chestnut colored wraps. The script remains clean and bold. Along with the rod information, the original owner's name is written. The cigar grip is 6 1/2" in length with a thumb and palm indentation. The cork is soiled but free of any other defect. Aluminum down-locking reel seat over a handsome Walnut burl spacer. The original owner's name is stamped on the bottom of the butt cap. The blued ferrules are size 11/64 with a perfect fit. The rod weighs an even 4 oz. The rod is marked as a 6-weight though with most Orvis rods a line size down is best. The action is medium fast, perfect for all-around trout work. Includes original bag and leather tube. Unfortunately, the tube has seen better days. The leather tabs that hold the straps on the cap have come off. If one were handy this could be restored.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
