For sale here we have a fine Douglas Duck bamboo rod -- Model 224 -- 7'6" 2/2 for a 5wt line. Serial no. 2057. The rod is in excellent+ condition.
This is a somewhat special rod in that Duck was most well-known for his Garrison and Gillum tapers. The rod has spiral nodes, flawless craftsmanship, and is constructed of high quality, very dense cane. It's a roll-casting machine!
The rod features moderately tempered cane with transparent amber colored wraps; cinnamon wraps at the ferrules with amber tipping. Deeply blued guides with the exception if the stripping guide. The tips are numbered for convenience. Garrison-style hook keeper as well as a Garrison-style grip. The cork measures 5 3/4" in length with only light soiling. Bright nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a beautiful maple spacer. The Swiss-style ferrules have a pleasing fit. The rod weighs in at 3.85 oz. The action is medium fast and semi-parabolic feel. A great all-around trout rod. All sections are full-length and void of any repairs.
Includes the original bag and green powder-coated tube with brass fittings.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
