For sale here is a beautiful and rare three piece Paul H. Young fly rod - 9 1/2 feet in length for a 9 weight line. Three sections with two tips. Excellent plus restored condition. The restoration was performed by the masterful hands of Bob Summers in July of 2014. The rod weighs 6 3/4 oz. The rod was originally built in 1952 and appeared in the PHY catalogs from 1951 to 1955. No serial number as he began numbering rods in 1955. Richly flame-mottled cane with cinnamon wraps. Bright guides and blued ferrules. The script on the rod is in Bob Summers' hand and reads, "Paul H. Young Maker Detroit 52" "9'6" 6 3/4 oz. 6/64 TT GAF." "Refinished by R.W. Summers July 2014". Garrison-style hook keeper. The half wells grip displays some light soiling and a few very minor dents. Black aluminum, uplocking reel seat with a cork spacer. PHY Rod Co. stamp on the butt cap. The Super-Z ferrules are size 20/64 and 14/64. The fit is excellent. Includes replacement bag and tube from Bob Summers. An absolutely stunning flame-mottled rod that many Paul Young collectors crave!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
