For sale here is a 8' impregnated Orvis Battenkill bamboo rod - 8' 5/6wt. Two sections with two tips. Serial no. 41740. Made in November of 1965. The rod is in excellent original condition. All sections are full length and straight. The cane is tempered to a medium dark. Characteristic chestnut brown wraps. All wraps and varnish are in beautiful condition. The guides, ferrules, winding check, and tip-tops are blued. The script on the butt is fully intact and bold, not faded or damaged. Sculpted nickel silver winding check. Cigar grip with a slender profile. The grip is somewhat soiled but in excellent condition - void of ridging or hook gouges. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat with a fine varnished walnut spacer. The seat and spacer are free of major scratches or dent, excellent condition. Ferrule size 13/64, the fit is very good. The rod weighs 4.45 oz. Though marked as a 6wt on the tube, it is usually best with a line size down on Orvis rods. The action is medium-fast with a nice balance of authority and delicacy - a very nice all-around trout stick. Includes original grey bag and aluminum tube with silver and green foil label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
