For sale here is a FE Thomas Browntone Bamboo Rod 8'6 3/2 for a 5-6 weight. Serial number is #EF137 and is listed in the 1947 ledger as an 8 1/2' 3pc Browntone Fly rod, with Hardy style locking seat, Thomas grip, Dark Brown silk tipped with Green at the base of each section, and weighs 4 1/4 oz. It was delivered to Abercrombie & Fitch on 4/6/1947. Ferrules are size 10 and 16. The rod is original and mostly in very good condition. One tip however has been broken about 4 1/2" from the top, but it appears all of the cane is still present, wrapped loosely with thread to secure it until a much-needed repair can be carried out. The other tip is fully intact but has a set in it. The ferrule fit on both sections is very tight and the ferrules need to be professionally cleaned. Comes with original bag and tube with Thomas tube label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
