For sale here is an R.L. Winston IM6 9' 8wt graphite rod. Serial no. 18027. The rod is in excellent+ condition. The rod features a sanded emerald green graphite blank with matching wraps. Red tipping at the U-shaped hook-keeper, silver tipping at the signature wrap. Bright guides and ceramic strippers. Finely turned and knurled nickel silver checks. Though the grip is described as a cigar grip I would call it a hybrid cigar/western grip, a cigar grip with a wide flair at the rear. Though the grip is lightly soiled it is free of ridging, hook gouges and other defects. Bright nickel silver up-locking reel seat with a fine teak wood spacer. The rod also includes a removable cork fighting butt 1 5/8" in length. The rod features spigot ferrules which help to more efficiently transfer energy through the sections. The sections fit together nice and tight as they should with a 1/4" gap to allow for wear over time. The action is fast, with plenty of backbone in the butt. Yet, the tip is sensitive allowing for a more delicate cast when required, tippet protection, and better feel. The is the perfect length and line weight for an all-around big game rod; bass, steelhead, salmon, carp, redfish, bonefish, etc... The rod weighs 4.15 oz. without the fighting butt and 4.55 oz. with.
