For sale here is a Garrison Model 209E taper bamboo rod built by Art Weiler of Pennsylvania. Serial no. 208. A very nice and faithful reproduction of an extremely popular and classic five to six weight taper. Weiler has designated this rod as more of a 5wt. The rod is in excellent plus condition. Medium blonde cane with transparent gold wraps. Chestnut brown thread at the winding check and ferrules with red and green wraps at the tip-tops. Blued guides. Garrison style hook keeper as well as grip. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat. The ring has a fine diamond knurling. The spacer is a handsome varnished walnut that tapers seamlessly into the grip. Bright Swiss style ferrules, size 12/64. The fit is nice and tight as it should be. The action is medium fast. Quick, light, and well balanced in the hand. The rod weighs 4 3/8 oz. A well executed nod to the highly coveted original. Comes with original bag, ferrule plug sewn into the bag, and aluminum tube with brass fittings and fine quill pen written label. - We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
