SKU: VFT2488

For sale here is a graphite rod from Tom Morgan Rodsmiths - 8'6" 3wt two-piece. Made in 2004. The rod is in excellent+ condition. Deep burgundy colored, sanded graphite blank with matching translucent wraps. Fine gold tipping at the winding check, signature wrap, female ferrule, and tip-top. Bright guides. Salmon colored agate stripping guide. The original owner's name is written on the rod in metallic gold along with the date and rod information. Nickel-silver octagonal checks. The full wells grip shows discoloration from the rubbing of the black faux suede lining of the rod bag. This is most apparent on the high spots of the grip. Classically styled bright nickel silver cap and ring reel seat with a beautiful mortised burl wood spacer. Etched on the bottom of the butt cap, "Tom Morgan Rodsmiths". The sleeve ferrules are in excellent condition. The female ferrule features a nickel silver collar to aid in the prevention of a ferrule crack. The rod has a lovely smooth action a bit slower than most modern graphite rods, with plenty of feel and the length for mending and perfect drifts. The rod weighs 2.65 oz.

The original rod bag and tube are stunning. The bag is made of a satin-like material in a plum color with a black faux suede lining and a paisley piping around the edge. The tube is a heavy octagonal aluminum with a hammer-tone finish also in a plum color. The cap is quite handsome with knurled edges and a brass Tom Morgan Rodsmiths medallion set in the top. The tube is housed in a heavy black cotton cover with an adjustable drawstring and paisley piping at the bottom to match the rod bag.
