For sale here is a Thomas and Thomas (T&T) Classic bamboo rod -- 9' 3/2 7wt. Rod is in excellent+ original condition. A rare and early varnished Classic made when Dorsey and Maxwell were starting up in Massachusetts. All sections are full length. Down-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. Cigar grip with additional fixed fighting butt to assist with slinging an overhead line from a boat to the other side of the river. All of the reel seat components are aluminum. Oxidized guides and tip-tops. The ferrules are 22/64 and 15/64 and the ferrule fit is tight. The mid to tip ferrules don't seat all the way, but this is the way in which the rod was originally made. Maroon silks with black accent wraps at the hookkeeper and ferrules. Includes a rod bag (not sure if original) and the original labeled tube. The tube is long by 3 1/2" and the bag by 2 1/2" but in the early days perhaps these extraneous details were overlooked in the spirit of "it's the fishing rod that matters!". A scarce opportunity to acquire an early T&T salmon rod in amazing condition. These guys were good!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
