For sale here is a Thomas and Thomas Grilse Bamboo Rod from T&T's Individualist Series. Taken from the 1990 catalog, "A powerful 8'6 rod for #7 line that will make the time on your favorite salmon river more rewarding and less tiring". The rod is in excellent+ original condition throughout. The rod features a nickel silver screwlock slide band and lock ring, hand buffed; with detachable 5" fighting butt. Morticed burled walnut reel seat spacer (has some marks from use) and a western grip (slightly soiled). Mirrored tips. Elegantly swelled butt, bright guides, oxidized ferrules, great ferrule fit. "Every Individualist rod boasts a hand-rubbed, high-gloss varnish finish". "The attractive flamed cane used for T&T rods is complemented by translucent tawny rose guide wraps.....". T&T used these red wraps from approximately 1989 through 1992 according to their catalogs. Comes with original bag with stiffener, brass-capped aluminum tube with nice label. The fighting butt fits into a separate section of the bottom of the tube (the cap at that end screws off as well). The rod weighs 7 3/8 oz (the catalog and label weight is listed as 4 3/4 oz -- cane only I'm guessing). The rod is serial number 4886. Don't miss out on owning this classic T&T rod!
