This rod has a swelled butt which gives it authority for making presentations at distances up to a 80 feet or more." Eight feet for a six weight line. Made in 2004. The rod is in excellent and lightly used condition. The rod features moderately flamed cane that accentuates the grain and nodes. Transparent wraps with black tipping impart an elegant aesthetic. Blued guides with an amber agate stripper. Swelled butt. Cigar grip 6 1/2" in length with some soiling but in otherwise excellent shape. Fine nickel silver checks. Up-locking nickel silver reel seat with a handsome mortised burlwood spacer. Expertly engraved on the sliding band and locking ring are lifelike renditions of fly patterns including a hare's ear and a hopper. A trout is engraved on the butt cap. The bright nickel silver Swiss-style ferrules are also ornately engraved with an elegant leaf pattern. The ferrules are size 13/64 with a perfect fit. The rod weighs 5 1/2 oz. Fast action.
