Orvis Battenkill 8' 5-6wt Bamboo Rod

VFT438

For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Battenkill 8' 2/2 5-6wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 85744 - made in 1982 by Ron White. The rod is in excellent- overall condition.

Mildly tempered cane with cinnamon wraps and bright guides. The script remains clean and bold with the exception of some very light wear. Ring hook keeper. The cigar grip measures 6 1/2" in length with moderate soiling. Aluminum down-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The blued ferrules have a great fit. Labeled weight is 4 3/8 oz. The action is a smooth and versatile medium-fast for a 5-6wt line. Though marked as a 7wt, most Orvis rods do better with a line size or two down. Includes the original bag and tube with green and silver foil label.

There is some minor cracking in the varnish over some of the wraps. There is also a bent guide on one of the tips. All sections are free of repairs and full length with light fishing sets in the tips.
