For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Battenkill 8' 3/2 5-6wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 21525. Made in 1957. The rod remains in excellent condition. The mid section is regrettably short by 1 3/8" and was reset by Wes Jordan. Also, the two tips have slight sets, easily mendable.
The rod features beautiful chocolate colored Bakelite impregnated cane with transparent caramel wraps. Blued guides. The script remains clean and bold. The varnish over the script as well as the wraps is in excellent condition. A few of the wraps appear to have received a light touch-up of varnish at some point. U-shaped hook keeper. At one time there was paint on the aluminum winding check which is now wearing off. Cigar grip 6" in length with mild soiling and very slight ridging. Aluminum down-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The blued ferrules are size 10/64 and 16/64 with an excellent fit. The rod weighs 4.40 oz. The rod has a fantastic medium-fast action. Includes original grey bag and original tube with green and white paper label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
