For sale here is an R.W. Lancaster (Bob Lancaster) Boulder River 8'0" 4/2 5-6wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 58v84. The rod is in excellent original condition, all sections are full length and straight.
Lancaster was greatly influenced by Paul H. Young's work. Handsome mottle-flamed tempering. Matte oil finish with chestnut brown wraps. The original owner's name is inscribed on the butt along with the rod information. The tips feature one or two dots to distinguish them from one another. Garrison-style hook keeper. Cigar grip 6" in length with only light soiling. Dual nickel silver sliding band reel seat over a mortised walnut spacer with a nickel silver button butt-cap. The upper ring has lost much of its bluing and the bottom band and butt-cap show wear. There are light dents in the spacer. The blued Swiss-style ferrules are size 11/64, 15/64, and 19/64 - all with a perfect fit. The rod weighs 5.10 oz.
The action is a powerful, full-flexing medium-fast for a five or six weight line. The four-piece construction makes this rod easily transportable and great for backcountry journeys. Includes original plaid bag and original tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
