For sale here is a Dingley 3" Perfect style fly reel made for retailer Alex Martin and branded "Thistle". Stamped 2 throughout. This very good condition reel is RHW and comes with a nice and strong dual check from the late 30's or early 40's. Knurled tensioner works well as intended but it will let you unscrew it entirely. Gear teeth and pawl still in excellent shape. Un-filed original smooth brass reel foot with two screws. Crazed ebonite handle spins freely. The screw and washer are obvious replacement parts. There is also a hairline crack on the rim, which doesn't appear threatening in my opinion. Fair amount of original leading remains. Price reflects condition. Still a very nice and tight Dingley Perfect trout reel that should see many more years on the stream.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
