For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Madison 8' 2/2 bamboo rod with a labeled weight of 4 3/8 oz. Two sections with two tips. The rod is in excellent restored condition, though one of the tips is down 5". All sections are straight. Moderately dark tempered cane. Chestnut brown wraps. The wraps and varnish are in excellent condition, matching the originals very well. Bright guides, U-shaped hook keeper. There is a dark blemish under the hook keeper from use. Script on the butt is fully intact, though the serial numbers were lost in the restoration. Cigar-style grip with a slender nose 6 1/2" in length. The grip is only lightly soiled. Aluminum down-locking reel seat with a fine varnished wood spacer. The blued ferrules are size 12/64 and the fit is nice and tight as it should be. The actual weight on our digital scale is 4.40 oz. with the full length tip. The rod is labeled as an 8wt (GBF), but this rod feels much closer to a 6wt. The action is medium-fast and quite versatile. Orvis bag and aluminum tube with blue and gold foil label are included with the rod. An excellent all around Orvis rod at a great price.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
