For sale here is a Paul H. Young "Perfectionist" bamboo fly rod - 7'6" 2/3 4-5wt. Serial no. 4264. Made in 1966. The rod is in excellent+ restored condition having been fished sparsely since restoration. It is unknown who performed the restoration though certainly a fine job. The rod includes a third tip presumably made at the time of restoration. One of the original tips is down 4". All other sections are full length and straight.
The rod features handsome mottle-flamed cane. A look that draws so many to Mr. Young's rods. Transparent caramel wraps with oxidized guides and ferrules. Garrison-style hook keeper. Reverse half wells grip 6 3/8" in length with mild soiling. Up-locking aluminum reel seat over a cork spacer with an aluminum "button" butt cap. The grip and reel seat were both replaced during the restoration. The Swiss-style ferrules have a perfect fit, nice and snug. The rod weighs in at 3.10 oz. with a swift, responsive medium-fast dry-fly action. Truly, a pleasure to cast. One of the best models ever made by the Paul H. Young Co. Grab it here for a great price.

There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
