For sale here is a very recently delivered Mario Wojnicki hollow-built penta bamboo rod, 7'3" 2/2 for a 4 weight line. Model 220V4T2. The rod is in mint condition with the exception of a very fine casting crack in one of the ferrule wraps from being lawn cast. All sections are straight.
Beautifully flamed cane with warmly toned wraps of honey, black, and cinnamon that complement the varied tones of the bamboo. The E.C. Powell-style grip is 6 1/2" in length. Lightly blued dual sliding ring reel seat over a handsome mortised walnut spacer. Two dry fly action tips, one lighter for smaller flies, and one a bit beefier for the bigger flies and for when the winds pick up. The two tips are distinguished by an "F" next to the model number on the heavier tip. This tip also has two bands of black tipping at the tip-top. With the lighter tip the rod has a semi-parabolic medium-fast dry-fly action. Swift, light in the hand, and responsive. The heavier tip produces are full-parabolic action with more authority. With either tip the rod is a pleasure to cast. The rod features Mario's fiberglass ferrules and ferrule plug. Original bag and tube with model number stamped into the brass cap. The rod weighs 2.65 oz. and 2.70 oz. with the beefier tip. Mario is at the top of his game and this rod is a remarkable example of why he's considered one of the best rod makers in the world.
