For sale here is a H.L. Leonard Model 40H bamboo rod. 8 feet in length with two sections and two tips for a 6wt line. Serial #913. The rod weighs 4 1/4 oz. The rod is in excellent plus original condition having been fished sparingly. The varnish remains glass-like and free of any defects. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features blonde, straw colored cane with transparent Chinese red wraps. The winding check and male ferrules feature crimson tipping. Darkly oxidized guides. Stylish, gradually swelled butt. The black script indicating the serial number on the butt and tip sections remains clean and bold. Ring hook keeper. Bright aluminum winding check. Classic cigar grip 5 1/2" in length with only the lightest of soiling. Free of any ridging, dents, hook gouges, etc. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat with a butternut spacer. The seat and butt cap remain free of wear.
The bright nickel silver ferrules are size 13/64 with an excellent fit. Indented witness marks on the ferrule shoulder. The rod includes an aluminum/cork ferrule plug made by a prior owner. The action is on the medium side of medium-fast. A faster and more lively rod than many Leonards. The rod includes its original bag with stiffening dowel and original tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
