For sale here is a very scarce E.F. Payne Model 209 -- 9′ 3/2 dry fly bamboo rod for a six weight line. Near mint and original condition. Made for and sold by Abercrombie and Fitch in the 1960s. Wraps are chestnut brown with red, with red, gold, and purple at the winding check and male ferrules. Handsome swelled butt. Grip shows only light handling marks. The uplocking reel seat remains in pristine condition. Stamp on the locking ring reads, "Made for Abercrombie and Fitch New York". The ferrules are size 11/64 and 17/64 with a perfect fit. Ferrule plugs are included. The rod weighs 5.70 oz. A very powerful caster. Includes original bag with pristine hang tag intact as well as the original rod tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
