VFT1896

For sale here is a Walt Carpenter Browntone 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 822276. Made in 1982. An absolutely gorgeous rod in near mint condition with only the slightest evidence of handling. All sections are full length and straight. Beautiful, darkly tempered cane with chestnut brown silks and fine black tipping. Clear agate stripping guide sized larger for modern lines. The tip sections are marked with one and two dots. Handsome mildly swelled butt. Cigar grip 6 1/8" in length with light handling marks. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a mortised beautifully figured walnut spacer. The blued ferrules are size 13/64 with a wonderful fit. The rod weighs 3.75 oz. The action is authoritative, on the faster side of medium-fast. Comes with original bag and labeled tube.

Mr. Carpenter is a recognized master of the Catskill school of rod building. This mastery is more than evident in this rod. It will not disappoint.
