For sale here is a Paul French bamboo rod - 6'3, 2/2 for a 4 weight. Paul French built most of his rods (not many) in the 90's and at that time was a student of Darryl Whitehead. He built very exquisite rods and those fortunate enough to own one tend to hold on to them. This one is still original, full-length and in excellent condition. Medium to medium fast parabolic action. Darkly flamed cane and a very handsome spiraled node pattern. Beautiful burled reel seat spacer with simple pocketed butt cap and a nickel silver ring. This is one of Paul's early rods and feels like a great small stream rod capable of landing good-sized fish. Burgundy wraps with the ferrule station and winding check wraps tipped gold and black. Very attractive red agate stripping guide. Blued snake guides, tip tops and ferrules. Western style cigar grip. Please note that the plastic has been taken off the grip since I took these photos and the rod has been fished a few times. Comes with brass ferrule plug. One tip section has a slight fishing set. There are also some very minor marks on the reel seat spacer from mounting a reel. Comes with replacement bag and tube.
Most of the Paul French rods on the market came from one collector and once this handful of rods are sold, you may not see one for quite a while.
