For sale here is an Orvis Battenkill 7 1/2 foot impregnated bamboo rod for a 5 weight line. Labeled as weighing 3 7/8 oz. but comes in at 4.10 oz. on our scale. Serial #51614. Made in 1968. The rod is in excellent+ original condition. All sections are full length and straight. The rod features darkly tempered cane that highlights the grain of the bamboo nicely. Chestnut brown wraps as per usual for Orvis rods. Bright guides, oxidized ferrules. Bright U-shaped hook keeper. The writing remains clean and bold on the butt section. Sculpted nickel silver winding check. Cigar grip with a slender nose. The grip is soiled but free of any other defect. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat with a handsome wood spacer with bold grain. Ferrule size 12/64, the fit is perfect. The action is medium-fast and would make for an excellent all-around trout rod; easily handling wets, dries, and light streamers as well. Balances well in the hand. Though the rod is labeled as a 6wt a line size down is best with these Orvis rods. Includes original bag and tube with blue and silver foil label. Also includes original literature card. A wonderful example of one of the most popular rods to ever come from the Orvis shop. Don't miss out on this fine rod!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
