For sale here is a 8' 5-6wt Gary Lacey bamboo rod, inspired by a FE Thomas Mahogany rod Mr. Lacey encountered while visiting Sante Giuliani (fishnbanjo) in Maine. Four sections with two tips. The rod is in near mint condition having only been lawn cast. Granger green silks with black tipping as well as full intermediates and three thin bands outside each guide and ferrule. The dark browntone ammoniated cane contrasts well with the abundance of green silk. Ferrules and tip tops are wrapped in black thread ala Winston - a very nice touch. The small guides on this rod are a nod to the past as well. Emerald green agate stripper with a fine rope knurling. Cigar grip. Cap and ring reel seat over a beautiful burl wood spacer. The reel seat hardware and hook keeper/winding check also feature the fine rope knurling pattern. "G. Lacey Maker" engraved into the bottom of the butt cap. Ferrule sizes 16, 13 and 9 and all female ferrules come with ferrule plugs. The ferrule fit is perfect. Rod weighs 4 1/2 oz. Keeping in line with the rest of the rod, the action is a classic medium-fast similar to the FET rod it was modeled after. Includes bag and tube with a fine leather cover that has a lovely weathered patina adding to style of the combined package.
